It's time for a randomizer updgrade.

How it started

A nerdy discussion about flipping coins, rolling dice, and random number generators went something like this:

"What if you could flip a coin and it showed the result of a die roll? You could use the noise from an accelerometer or something as the seed for a random number generator to create a true random output.
<long debate about the definition of "true random" and the efficacy of random number generating algorithms> Regardless, it would be nice not to have to carry so many dice around, right? And flipping a coin is fun..."

What's important

We love the escape that is tabletop gaming. Putting cell phones and tablets aside, sitting down with friends, books, papers, pencils, and dice, and having some fun. It may seem counter intuitive to design a digital device that would fit this atmosphere, but that's the task we set ourselves and we're confident we can accomplish it.

  • An unobtrusive display that fits with the paper and pencil motif
  • Standalone capable - no peripherals are necessary during play
  • Enough power to last a full session without charging interruptions
  • Intuitive user interface as fast or faster than using dice
